"Candle Stork took flight from a desire to detoxify my own home."

As a wellness enthusiast with a background in candle-making, Nettie created Candle Stork out of frustration with the harmful ingredients found in mainstream home fragrance products.

"For years I filled my home with candles that promised "non-toxic" ingredients with nothing but marketing to show for it. These supposedly clean candles made with synthetic fragrances and soy wax led to headaches, scratchy throat, and a brain fog I couldn’t shake. The ritual of lighting a candle was laced with hidden toxins: thousands of harmful synthetics masked behind the word "fragrance". It led me to wonder why candles didn't come with ingredient labels. Surely, it matters what goes into our air as much as it does what goes into our food." 

Nettie's sensitivity to artificial fragrance guided her to pursue a more intentional lifestyle and ditch synthetic products throughout her home. After a year without burning candles, She found herself craving their comforting ambiance, and set out to create a better kind of candle. 

She began experimenting with beeswax—locally sourced, air-purifying, golden, and  hypoallergenic. Then she started mixing bespoke botanical oil blends from certified organic and wild-harvested plant extracts, absolutes, and essential oils. The resulting candles were truly clean aromas kissed by honeyed light. 

Since then, Candle Stork has brought atmospheric wellness to hundreds of homes. Our ingredients are simple and sacred: Michigan beeswax, organic essential oils, and 100% cotton wicks. No synthetics, and no secrets. With full ingredient transparency and a love of crafting safe scents for home, you can enjoy our products without compromising your wellbeing.
